By air you can reach Stornoway in less than one hour from Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen and Inverness and in two to three hours from London.
If you are taking the sea route, you can sail to/from Uig (Skye) to Tarbert (Harris) with a sailing time of 1 hour 30 minutes, or to/from Ullapool on the mainland to Stornoway (Lewis) with a sailing time of 2 hours 40 minutes.
Travelling from Stornoway take the A859 south to Leurbost, or if arriving at Tarbert take the A859 north to Leurbost. Then take the A858 to Garynahine - then the B8011 to Uig - after the village of Ardroil, just over the Red River bridge with the Abhainn Dearg Distillery on your left, you will see the signpost for Carnish / Carnais - we are the third building on the right.
